The Dark Queen 2003, Mask Collector 2012

The first is one of my first attempts at using watercolor, and they both had the same use of white acrylic to build the body.  It was an almost unconscious bouncing off of the original to get to the second, though I do draw the single female in a flowing dress often.

I was at the Comicon the other week when I realized it’d been pretty much ten years between the two.

Deeper Than Before

She appeared again.  From time to time this one rises from what ever pile of leaves are gathering at the base of an old, venerable oak.  Or out of the corner of that shadow, just over the hill.

Someone will find her, to hold conversation with her about the way of things.  Forest things.  Dream things.  Words might be spoken, or gazes only met, but until that someone arrives, she is ever patient.
