Out of the Shadow
Charcoal, pencil, black ink on paper.
I don’t think I’ll get over how cool this looks.
Sun and Moon, Love… being used for Moon Vs Sun Vodka :D
In the Late Afternoon…
10x22in, watercolor on arches watercolor paper, pencil & pen for lines.
Added the sketches and an older close up of the crow on the rock.
This is the color the grass gets in the summer time around here, when the sun is starting to drift its way back down to the horizon.
Stars Are Born
Acrylic on board, 16x20in
Prints available here.
All done! Just waiting on it to hit bone dry status to scan it in. Now all I need is a title..
16x20in acrylic on board
Dragon Summoner
Watercolor, acrylic (white), pen and pencil on paper.
Thinking Tree (Pen on paper 2013)
Imaginary Friend and I (Watercolor & Pen on paper 2010)
Saw The Thinking Tree wander through my feed after I got out of work, and remembered my other painting. Anything “me” seems to have stripes of some sort. Did a self portrait in highschool and I painted myself a striped shirt. I didn’t even have an imaginary friend, but sometimes I do have other voices, so it’s almost the same thing, right? ;)
Glyph
11x14, watercolor, pencil, marker on tea stained paper
How I make my paper stained…
The Dark Queen 2003, Mask Collector 2012
The first is one of my first attempts at using watercolor, and they both had the same use of white acrylic to build the body. It was an almost unconscious bouncing off of the original to get to the second, though I do draw the single female in a flowing dress often.
I was at the Comicon the other week when I realized it’d been pretty much ten years between the two.
The Nymph and the Mermaid, Kissing by the Sea
Original one was digital, 2002, and the second was just to see where my style had gone 10 years later, and in watercolor with pencil for lines. No reasons for redoing except for “just because”.
The Butterfly Queen
I was bored this morning and looking through old work to see if I could jog up any ideas on what to work on next (never mind that I have a few paintings I need to finish!), and started to look at ones I’ve redone for various reasons, how they seem to almost be 7-10 year spread between the original and the redo.
This one was redone because I gave the sister the 2002 painting for a gift, and forgot to remove it from my for sale page… so I did a new version of it in 2009. The original one I was purposefully attempting some odd style, and I think that’s the beginning of my squiggly decorative lines that I use often these days.
Once the Spring…
6x9in, watercolor & paper on paper
original and prints available.
Possible painting at some point
Tree of Memories
pen and pencil on 2.5x3.5in paper

Quiet Creature
2.5x3.5in, pencil on bristol
Been sick all week because spring finally settled itself nice and heavy in the St. Louis area (and with three tornadoes too. Oi!)
Finally got the oomph back to start working again. Going to be watercolor, 6x9in.
